Most KTV in Shanghai has kinky games while in the room - like girls dancing naked, or games where the girls will strip, perform etc. Definitely a lot of fun if you have a group of friends going together, even though the price is quite high.

I have had a lot of experience in shanghai with KTV, usually with a local. Pay for the room, depends on the quality of the KTV and size of room, generally a room will cost Rmb 600-1000 depending on location of KTV, and type of room and quality.

They usually include 10-12 beers, Heinekin or budweiser. You pay Rmb 2-300 for the Mammasan and the girl serving drinks - each. Pay the girl sitting with you Rmb 300, as you will be a foreigner. If you take her out, the payment of Rmb 2-300 becomes part of the deal. Expect to pay Rmb 800-1500 depending on the girl in Shanghai.

It is great fun, especially if you have several people with you.

Good info to start with but I ahve some questions.

I do KTV's in Thailand a lot. It's a different kind of experience and can bea lot of fun, if somewhat more expensive. However, in thailand these places are notorious for non-transparent pricing. Drink prices, cover charges, bar fines can accumulate rapidly unbenownst to the consumer. I am fluent in Thai and know the systems and questions to ask.

I have stayed away from these in Hong Kong and thereabouts feeling that without local knowledge they can be dangerous.

So, I'd like to know if anyone really knows the full systems and pricing levels as well as safety in Shanghai.

There are plenty of KTV in Shanghai, for all budgets. There are many with 300-400 girls in them. In most you need to tell the mamasan you want a take out girl, and then she will bring in a line up for your to choose from.

Are there any good KTVs in Shanghai where, you go into the ktv room, then the mamasan comes in and gives you a good selection of girls to choose from. You do a little singing, drinking, then take the girl out afterwards. Do your deed at the hotel and send them home. I very familiar with the action in the Guangdong and Shenzhen area, but dont know anything in Shanghai. Any suggestions?
