Get introduced to country music?

I'm getting introduced to country music for the first time. What are some newer country artists/songs I should check out? I'm not wanting like super-twangy, really country stuff. Someone help me out please? Anything is appreciated

I admit hard rock is my first genre, but some underground and old stuff is good. try savingcountrymusic.com for links to different artists.

if you mean the stuff on the radio, i can't help ya. i find that to be pretty boy pop for southern housewives and preppy rednecks and tools. Johnny Cash and Kenny Chesney are a WORLD apart. New stuff sucks out loud mainstream wise

go listen to some Country Rock! Jason Aldean has some heavy guitar sometimes but he is country and its not twangy.

Shes country (epic song, sounds twangy but its not. a banjo kicks in then heavy guitar come about 20 seconds in! best song ever!!!)
