The job offer I've got back in Russia was for about 10g. per month for a very well worldknown company. Jalous? Be so. I make much less than that massaging, but I live in Montreal and still have all my integrity, not working for fin. sharks, but with bodies and I am independant and if I don't feel like doing business with immature dudes like you-= I don't have to. In any case your not on my list of desired clients, so back off.
I consider increasing my rate, yes, I prefer to do two massages per day and make the same than doing four, just by keeping my regulars. The way I work I can afford that. So you cry ..
I don't know how bad you feel about your job, but my proud lies in the quality of what I do: be it massage,washing dishes, emptying garbages, performing hj, or wiping asses- I do it so well and with such great respect of myself, that even if you shit allover,you won't bring me down.
My advice to you, get some education or professionnal councelling.
As for the price for my service- no need to justify.

The point many of you will defend is money money money.
Like if nothing else was existant and the only thing around is money.
Well,by the definition of money- as I see it; money is a reward for work.Work-money, if we respect our work- we respect our money,if we don't respect our work,then our money stinks.
And Vise-versa.
I respect my money- it's the mesure of my work, of my effort.
In exchange of money I can get myself food, roof, clothing, education, goods.
All the things I need and want. The only way to get myself money is to work.
The level (amount) of money I get is the reflection of the effort I put into it.
It could be number of years of studies, practice, talent - anything.
Hard working and good at it people make good money and it should be so. The ratio is propotionnal.
So, if the money is for work, the work is for money.
Therefore by loving money-I mean loving work - it's very much true with only one little aspect to consider: I don't love money, but I love what I can get with it.
So yes, I massage you for money,the same way, urologist checks your guts for money, surgeon opens you up for money, nurse wipes your ass for money and you do YOUR WORK FOR MONEY.
And so I respect the job I and you do as much as I respect THE MONEY that it brings us, so we can exchange: you buy my services and I buy yours.
All for money of course.
I do sometimes some benevolat, but not very often because I have to make a living too.

All of my classmates in Moscow make more than 3 grands a month and complain- their friends make more for the same, in another company.
Some of my friends in Moscow make 500$a month and do complain too- and they are right.
If you need to have a real look of what is happenning in Russia and Moscow, just visit it and get closer to people. With 10 grands a month you live in Moscow like in Montreal with five.

You have to understand the present day Russia has two economic realities - the above board economy that you refer to in your post quoted above and the underground economy that is very properous.

In the second context someone coming back from Canada or a Canadian who can speak Russian or another relevent language going over could easily make $10,000 a month if they were willing to make certain compromises.

Russian stats..Let me tell you something about it.
A friend of mine in Moscow,was showing me some stats that he made a contribution to as analist. It was terrifying to see. So he gave me some updates on it. Ex. Who do they consider as active population? Everybody alive and with no handicap. From new born to retired. How do they calculate average income? They consider all of those( at least if they are a part of national recensement(?)) . And that income varies from o to few billions a year per head. I was told not to trust russian stats under any circomstance- and it's my advice to you as well by now. The stats you can trust there- should be the ones done by independant companies and on independant issues ,veryfiable.
And then with real estate prices in Moscow only people with high income and salaries are welcome in that city.
A 10 G is not a rare thing in Moscow, that I can tell you for sure.
Another thing is that it doesn't give you anything close to the quality of living with half less of that in Montreal.
A good translator gets up to four thousands a month in Moscow just one language and no other speciality.
Any further guess?
