Fleece Table Pad

I have only used a twin-sized, fitted, mattress pad cover for my table and am now considering a fleece one (non-wool, and non-heated). I am considering the fitted versus the one that straps under the table corners. It appears from this forum, as well as seeing for myself, that many therapists use them (therefore they must be good ).

Any feedback on certain brands? Better prices found? Better quality found? Good for year-round use?

I have a table warmer and a "faux" wool table pad -both the kind with straps to hold them on- and I am very happy with the set up. I got the table warmer from Amazon for $28 (sorry, don't have the link, but should be pretty easy to find) and the pad was a gift, so I don't know the price, but it came from massage warehouse.

My favorite therapist that I go to has a similar set-up, and I LOVE laying on her table. It is so comfortable.

I use the exact same set-up as palpable; I got both my table warmer and non-wool fleece table pad from Massage Warehouse. In fact, I got both of them as part of their "professional pack," which contains lots of things besides these (aromatherapy diffuser, rolling stool, bolster, memory foam headrest, etc.) at what I considered to be a fabulous price. Wow, I sound like a commercial, but I really do use almost all of the things in that pack.

I have never found a problem with the straps holding on the heating pad and the fleece pad over that. It's easy to remove and place on, and I never have any shifting or anything, especially since I use a fitted flannel sheet over those. Clients have commented often how wonderful it feels to lie on my table. I think the table warmer is the biggest hit of all, but I wouldn't use one without the fleece cover to cushion it.

Thanks! This is very helpful, as I'm planning on ordering one within the next couple of days. I especially appreciate the feedback regarding the straps because I wasn't sure if it would be kind of slidey...was thinking the fitted was a better choice in that case. The fitted is approx $34 more than the strap one. I'm thinking now that it's not necessary to spend the extra for the fitted.

Is the fleece pad good for year-round use? Not too hot in summer?

The fleece pad is not only good for winter, but also good for summer, as it gives a layer of air between the fibers of the fleece, which actually helps keep the client from getting too hot in the summer. It gives a good cushion, too, which I like.

When I was doing clinic at my school, we had to use their sheets (which tended to be cheap blends) directly over the table. Not only was it very firm on the table, but I always hated that when I moved the client at all (rocking, or range of motion), they would sometimes "squeak" as they moved, which sometimes sounded like embarrassing noises. (It wasn't the table squeaking, it was the sheet against the table.) With my fleece cover on my own table, that never happens.

It just dawned on me that my table has round corners...hmmm, may have to go with the fitted.
