Greetings all. Great sight with great info.

I was in TJ in March. Have a Mexican buddy down there that knows the ropes and takes me around.

For a quick cheap fix Adelitas can't be beat. Awesome selection but the sex is always a bit mechanical. Some of the Chicks are a bit scary, but soem are downright HOT. $60 for the girl, 12 for room and a buck for the cleanup guy is standard. Price is for a half hour. But keep an eye on your watch as she will definately try to rush you.

Hong Kong also a lot of fun. Had a big crew with us and hung out with an awesome chich named Andrea. Really cute, from Mexico City. Was giving us hand jobs and stuff under the table. But I'm not sure if she was working that night. Also a good selection of SWs in the alley but was a little sketchd out by them.

My favorite though has to Be Sirenas (Mermaids). There are two locations, one next to Adelitas in the zoan and another one a little farther out. Sorry don't know the location. First time my Mex buddy took me there. 2nd night he was pooped and had to get back to his fiance so we went out prowling without him. But the folks at the Mermaids in the Zona were able to redirect me to the one outside the Zona. The selection is much better at the Mermaids ourseide th Zona an the girls are a lot hotter. Also atmosphere seems to be more relazed. Wish I could give better directiosn because this place is defiantely the bomb. Does anybody have more specifics? I usually just have my buddy M. drive me around. Incidentally driving in TJ is a bad idea! THey are very strict with the DUI checkpoints and we got stopped several times tah tnight. Poor M had to pay at least $200 in bribes - but he was drunk as a skunk...

All the girls are dressed in School Girls outfits (badabing!!) and they do a little line up for you when you go uptairs to where the rooms are. Price is $50 for room adn massage and 100 for FS. Girls treat you right! Very sweet and lots of fun. Was there 2 nights ina row and they realy know how to treat an hombre. Had a real Girlfriend expereince first night with the first girl (Also Andre - a 9!!). Was a little drunk and had tough time cumming. Dear Fellow Mongers,

I have travelled and mongered quite a lot, Europe, Asia etc... but funnily enough never in South America and never in Tijuana.

Being for a short while on business in South California, I have decided to give it a try.
I have RTF carefully, and must thank everyone for all the info. I have taken note of all the "safety" rules and will carefully follow them

However, I have a few specific questions, and I hope that some of the TJ veterans will not mind spending a few minutes answering them...

First, I can only go during day time, say 1 to 7 pm, and either Monday or Tuesday. Is there any action, and if yes where? I read that AB is the best chance, but beyond this, any other place?

Two: Iam not young anymore, so what I ususally do is take my time to choose, and go for a FS action. However, after that, I am not ready for a while for a second cum, neither I am ready to head back home. Is there any place open in the afternoon where I can hang on comfortably, watching dancers, perhaps getting lap dances , possibly BJs, etc... without having to go back for a full session to the room? Basically a strip club like in the US but with high mileage, and cheaper lap dance?

The past month or two there haven’t been many/any cops at the border. Consequently, there aren’t any current reports of cop problems at the border.

The cops in TJ run sobriety checks points all the time. Most aren’t in areas that mongers frequent so you don’t hear about them too much on the boards. (Guys who live there/visit outlaying areas are used to them.)

If you don't drink and drive you'll be fine. If you do drink then don't drive--on either side of the border. San Diego often has soberity check points to catch guys who've partied in TJ. There's lots of cheap hotels to "sleep it off."

My $0.02 worth of driving tips:
--When driving to TJ, I avoid parking near the Zona. If prefer to park near South Revolcion and walk to the Zona.
--Park in a lot, especially at night. (Use a club. An alarm is nice too.)
--I use 10th Street to exit the downtown area. That way I avoid the cops who hang around the Zona looking for mongers.
--If you do drive to TJ then I suggest starting with day trips. Tijuana has it's own "style" of driving. Until you have caught onto how the locals drive you'll do better avoiding traffic circles and driving in daylight hours. (At least that was my experience.
--Crossing at Otay is quicker than crossing at San Ysidro. (And less stressfull.)
--Taking the road that goes past the airport is quicker than taking the Via Rapida to the Otay crossing.

Lots of questions in this thread. Here’s some answers.

The MexiCoach bus goes from the Border Station Parking lot to 7th and Revolucion. Last I knew the price was $2.50—not much of a savings over a cab. (Not that long ago it was just a buck.) The Border Station Parking lot is literally next to the last freeway exit off I-5. After crossing the border there is also a bus, near the “taxi libre traffic circle” close to the pharmacies that for something like $0.70 will take you downtown. (Most tourists don’t use it/know about it.)

As on now, to re-enter the US you a person is supposed to have (1) a photo ID showing he is and (2) something that proves his right to live/enter the US. A passport does both. So does a US driver’s license and a US birth certificate. As a practical matter, all a “white guy” is ever asked for is a US drivers license. (If you are of Hispanic descent and speak English with an accent then I’d be careful about having lots of solid ID, otherwise, a DL is sufficient.) As things now stand starting Jan, 1, 2008 a passport will be needed to re-enter the US. (I’ll give 50/50 odds that proposed regulation gets changed.)

There aren’t many girls in Adelitas from about 5am to 1pm. Late afternoon through early morning you’ll find lots of chicas there. (In fact, they only close for cleaning for something like one hour daily. When it’s open there is a chica or two there. Not necessarily a flock of chicas.)

Chicago Club is another good spot for beginners. However, things don’t get going at CC until after 9pm.

The cleanest, safest hotel in the Zona Norte is probably the Hotel del Santiago. Last I heard it’s around $40.00 a night. (They’ve been raising rates due to increased popularity.)

Going by yourself is not dangerous. I’d recommend going in the daytime for your first trip as you’ll see more and feel safer.

If you really want advice then read the “Newbie Guide to Tijuana” in the FAQ forum of TJ Amigos. (And before I get accused of something, yes I have a conflict of interest. But I still think it’s good advice.)

You can enter Mexico with a sack of cocaine over your shoulder, they don't care. Getting back requires documents. You need something that proves your citizenship, and a driver's license doesn't. (I dunno, maybe some guys can get by with just a DL, I prefer passport). Passport, or a certified copy of a birth certificate. Even if you lose your documents in Mexico, you can still get back to US if you can prove who you are.

For a non-Spanish speaking newbie I'd suggest leaving AB before the sun goes down and getting a taxi to the border. Not knowing the language won't necessarily hurt you, but be prepared to pay extra, be scammed more often and fend off a bunch of lowlifes "guides".

It's not very dangerous, once you know the drill, but I definitely recommend getting a vet to show you the ropes.

I need some info on documentation that you need to get back. Do I need to take my passport or just the driver license. I do not speak a word of spanish will that hurt me in a foriegn land.

What would be an appropriate time in the day to visit the Adelitas?

Based on the reading in this forum it sounds like going by yourself is very dangerous. Any help would be appreciated.

You must be referring to the mexicoach. From where the Trolley stops (and that is a nice way to travel vs. fighting through drunken marines and bloods/crips to the parking lot followed by ditching drunk driver hunting cops) , head towards the closest parking lot across the street (Across from Jack in the Box) it's over there. Last time I visited TJ in August, I took the tram from SD to San Yasidro, then walked across the border and through TJ to the Zona.

I hear there is a bus service that operates from SD to the Revolution Square in TJ. Is that true? Any other affordable "public transportation" options to TJ?

Hey all you guys who like driving in to the big T J, be careful. I just got back from a trip, and the policiacos got checkpoints set up on the way in and out of the strip looking for drunk drivers. Looks like they aren't punking cab drivers, but if you are driving from San Diego and had a beer or two, you might end up very very assed out. I don't remember the exact location, but it was a couple streets before Juarez.

On the plus side though, there aren't a gang of cops waiting by the stairs by the border looking to jump drunken americans. I saw only one, and he wasn't bugging people.

If you pay for anything In TJ with dollars make sure they will give you your change in dollars. Buying drinks can be real dangerous. They serve you 3 or 4 drinks and bring your change in dollars. Once your start to act a little buzzed they will start bringing your change in pesos. They will bring you a big stacks of pesos that will be worth less than a dollar. Don't get buzzed in TJ it can be real costly. 2 or 3 beers are my limit.

The prices on Hotel Satiago keep going up. It was $38.00, but somebody told me he paid $43.00.

Many taxi libres aren't using their meters these days. Some want to charge the same prices as yellow cabs. So check to see if the meter is on or off. If off then negociate before you get into the cab.

The approximate exchange rate is easy to figure: 10 to 1. If something is 70 pesos it's around $7.00 US.

Be careful using an ATM. Muggers hang out near ATMs anywhere one goes in the world. Never, ever let anybody "help" you at an ATM. (There are a number of scams these "helpers" practice.)

TJ still isn't a "garden spot."

thanks for all the advice. im actually used to the pesos since im mexican, but only go to michoacan once a year. went to tijuana once as a little kid, it looked like a piece of shit and im curious if it still does lol.

but ill follow the advice:

Pesos just get confusing man. I have actually used ATMs down there and ended up with pesos, but it's kind of hard to figure out the prices for everything in pesos. On THIS board, everybody talks about $ prices, so its hard to know the going rate in pesos (unless you wanna break out a calculator every transaction). Also, if you got pesos, at the end of your trip, you got to make a 2nd trip to the money vendor to exchange back to dollars. Big hassle if you ask me.

Also, if you want an interesting cab ride home, there is a cute ass chick who is actually a cab driver from the Chicago club. As to why she's a cab driver, and not a dancer/worker, I have no idea, but she sure a hell of a lot nicer to look at then a big fat sweaty borracho on your way back to the border. And no, I don't think she offers "extras."

It doesn't matter if you use dollars or pesos; however, more guys use dollars than pesos. Be sure you bring lots of $5 and $1 bill as nobody can make change. Plus the waiter probably will go home early if you give him a $20.00.

Personal taxis are rare in TJ. The problems with cabs are being overcharge, not mugged. Yellow cabs, taxi libres, etc. are all safe.

You might try the Hotel Santiago, in the Zona Norte, Its new and close to Adelitas. Since it's new it's it better condition than the Leva, Cascadas, etc.
