Extra apology for sloppy draping?

Hi all,

I just finished with a first time client...though shes not really a client, she is a networking associate so it was a no charge session so she can see how I work and hopefully refer people too me.

I had massaged glutes with oil on skin.

When I asked her to turn supine I lifted the sheet and it just dropped out of my hand. So it dropped and revealed her a little but really only what had already been uncovered…perhaps a little more but who knows, it all happened so quickly.

I immediately apologised straight away and pondered if I should say anything in post massage chat and I decided not to and ‘just leave it on table’

She was very satisfied with the massage but, should I
a)have said something post massage, like SORRY AGAIN ABOUT SHE SHEET DROP
b)say it when I see her next for a massage
c)forget about it and be satisfied that the quick apology when it happened was enough

thanks in advance for feedback.

I think I will use the triagle draping for turning over in future in stread of lifting one side only, that way this can never happen again.

If I were you I would put it completely out of my mind. Let it go. I'm sure she's not dwelling on it; it's just looming large in your mind because it was a first time client and you think you did something 'wrong'. But truly, I wouldn't worry about it any more and I wouldn't mention it again.

I aggree with Sunanda, just put it out of your mind. By not menitoning it again, it makes you sound much more professional.....kinda like, well these things happen, just move on.

I think if you mentioned it, it may of embarressed her too and if you mention it next time, she may wonder how come you remembered it and feel awkward or uncomfotable.

Move on hun, these things do happen.

Well…….when I was training we were taught the double towel method. I was massaging one of the other lady students (supine) in front of half the class and had finished the legs and was ready to pull the towel down over the feet. But, I had hold of the wrong towel and pulled it down completely uncovering the student’s top half!!! She quickly pulled the towel back up.
It is a mammary that will always stay with me. We did giggle about it afterwards though.

Then there was this time after I had qualified when I was working in my own clinic with a male client. Again they were in the supine position. As I was finishing his arm and covering it back over I noticed I had a bit of fluff on my finger so without thinking wiped it on the towel covering my client. It was an unconscious movement but in the second I did it I realised where I had wiped my finger. Yup, right on his dingaling area! You should have seen me jump back! But I was saved, he was already snoring away.

So just put it down to experience, Lollo. Over time you will gain many a funny story to share.

Like the time I wore my work sandals without socks. My feet kept slipping in them because they got hot and sweaty. I was working at the head end during a back massage and was standing on tip toe. When I stood back I had somehow trapped air in the sandal and it made a huge rumble just as if I had broken wind!!! ROFL, I silently giggled through the rest of the treatment. My client said nothing!!! Funny, the same thing happened when I was treating my sister. We were in stitches, she didn’t believe it was my shoe until I could reproduce it.

When I was in college we were practising on each other and the girl working on me sneezed - and farted at the same time. No-one else heard but the pair of us couldn't stop giggling and were both crying as we tried to stay quiet.
So, yes I agree that you should forget all about it. Your client probably has.

I remember doing my assessment massage in college and the client they brought in for me was a male jogger. He'd just been on a jog earlier and was quite sweaty still, but he was wearing those very high legged jogging shorts (you know the kind what was around in the 70's, silky with side splits.)

Anyhow, he whipped off his t-shirt and trainers and jumped on the bed, before I had a chance to leave and let him get changed. I was about to place the towels over him and he told me to leave them off as he was too hot. He then lifted his leg up and asked if I could do a deep tissue massage near his groin as it was playing up due to the running. But as he lifted his leg, his meat and two veg fell out of the side of his shorts. I litereally threw the towel over him and said, it was Swedish Massage I did and he would need Sports Massage. I then excused myself and ran and told my tutor.

She came back to the room with me and told my client, I was been assessed and would need to leave the bottom curtain open, so he HAD to be covered.

Needless to say, I passed, but it was quite embaressing.

All these embarrasing tales reminds me of the female client I had, late 60's, very full busted, but as you 'older' people know they beging to sink earthwise a little. I had turned her over, and had worked my way up the body, modesty towel etc. I went to sit at her head to perform a head and neck massage as the final part, as I worked on the shoulder areas I became aware that as I massaged, each 'boob' was working its way towards me, sliding on the oil, my client was very sleepy and totally unaware what was happening, gave a couple of snores, and a slight cough and suddenley two HUGE boobs came sliding over the top and trapped my hands on her shoulders & I was left looking at two nipples!!. I so wanted to laugh, they had slid so beautifully over, I managed to get one hand out and get another towel to cover her, and wispered in her ear it was time to come to, and I would leave her for a couple of mins, while I washed my hands - I left the room and returned about 10 minutes later by which time she was dressed, and I never said a thing!!

I have just had a really good laugh and it cheered me up to read the threads about what may happen when i do a client.I havent had any funny moments yet but if they cause as much laughter i cant wait,thanks for sharing your stories and i'll be on here quick as a flash if it does to share it with you.
