El Cuartel de la Boca del Monte

Has anyone been to El Cuartel de la Boca del Monte? I believe it is a nightclub and restaurant, not a place where working girls go.

I seem to remember someone saying that it is a decent place to try to pick up regular girls.

Does anyone out there have any insight into this place? How old are people hanging out in this place? (I'm in my mid 40s).

I have been there 10 times or so. Fun place for me. It was good several years ago but recently I have heard little about it until your post. It maybe closed now?? They had decent food & of course very loud music with a dance area in one room. The resturant was in the area when you walked in & it was not so loud. MAN HOT TICAS WENT THERE!! No P4P just college or seemed like upper class young Ticos. It was only like 7-8 blocks I believe from HDR or really not that far.

I talked to lots of Ticas there. They liked to practice their English with me with lots of laughs etc. but I never picked one up to spend the night. I could have set up dates for the future with several I am sure but I was not looking for that since it takes too much time & means little too me. I sure got my blood boiling before I finished the night at HDR.. :twisted:

Typical age I remember seeing was 20-35 so you will be ok I believe. I never seemed to stickout too bad :? ..

Is this place still open? If I remember right Wed. they had something special going on? I usually went with a Tico group also & that is how I found the place. I saw some good groups when I went.

I will say one thing since you mentioned concerts I went to a big concert I think in Tibas at a stadium.. thousands of Ticos were there & a younger crowd. I was with a group of Tico friends so I was somewhat restrained but I roamed around the best I could to people watch. I was very surprised at the average Tica look. It was not that impressive which disappointed me because I was looking for a great night of eye candy.

You lived there for a while does this surprise you it really shocked me. Also running around the different Malls I really see more average looking women than hot ones. I guess this shows me I am getting a good value per colony I spend on the Ladies of the Night because I see many of them as very pretty indeed. I know many are "dolled up" but I see beyond this :?. I have spent a lot of time in CR so there is little new left but I think I still see beauty in the Latinas in a realistic way.

Really for me I see the prettiest Ticas running around in the very heart of San Jose. A lot of the poor people seem to be the most physically attractive too me anyway which I find odd considering everything.

To answer your question Zippy I really think it's hit and miss. Or mabey a state of mind, preception or location, location, location.

I'll give you an example; Have you ever watched "A Todo Dar" that program on TV with the smoking hotties? Now I ask have you ever looked at the audience, there is not a single good looking female, sure there younger, but still cute is cute and sometimes it's just not there.

Sometimes I go to the mall in Escazu, and just walking around I see there are cute girls everywhere you look, in stores, the movies, even employees. Mabey they are just average, but I have to say average in CR is still above par.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't like the natural look of the Tica, I used to live in the next town over in Santo Domingo de Heredia and sometimes used to hang out in Tibas, and the girls on both sides of the bridge act and look different belive or not. Mabey cuz some think there better than others and that as you know is very common.

Don't look beyond the "dolled up look", as you put it.

i went the on my first trip with one of the dr bartenders on a monday night when the band marfil plays .the place is always packed solid .lots of girls a good mix of touirst and chicas .it was open at the end of may when i was last in cr.i cant say if there is p4p as i have always been there with someone.i really like this place and my only problem with it is that it so packed thaat it takes about twenty minutes to walk from the stage to the bar to get a drink and it is hot as hell.all that said i will be there on the 24 july an i hope i am not too tired to go out .long filght.

I remember how Hot the place was with so many bodies packed in. I just hate the look of myself with a sweaty face walking around with a cold beer & a boner. Hard to get a good conversation going like this :? !

Monday nights is the night. They are mostly college students.

Monday night is their best night. Wed nights use to be pretty decent. Back in the day it was a mixed crowd agewise. During the summer months you will find people from the different language schools there as well.
