It sounds like you lost money at or near the "Vaci utca", in the 5th district, on the Pest side, near the Elizabeth Bridge, a beautiful suspension bridge in Budapest. Yes, that whole street is a well-known tourist trap. Yes, in the 5th district of Budapest, money-loosing experiences usually start with two very nicely dressed females, either students or schoolteachers, who have highly polished manners; they're cultured, excellent conversationalist who speak English perfectly. If this makes you feel any better, try to imagine you were an unlucky actor who was selected to be in a play, and during the play you were entertained by 2 beautiful sophisticated ladies (in return for money).
If this makes you feel any better, this scam was not invented in Hungary. It probably originated in Las Vegas, where somebody had to pay for all those bright lights.
Hungarians are quite smart, talented, and creative people - one half of the Hungarian population has a college/university degree - but they still get little or no money. For 40 years, they were forced to live under tyranny, and when they came out of it, their girls have to spread their legs for us in order to make ends meet.
Sorry for what happened to you! Learn from the experience! Please keep in mind it was only money, and you can always make more money! Stop feeling sorry for yourself, get up, dust yourself off, and be glad that no physical harm was done to you!
