According to the BBC news website, on the live feed (check about 6am on the feed if you want to see for yourself), Bin Laden was caught by tracking down a trusted courier. The name of the courier was obtained a few years ago through a US detainee. Where have US detainees (terror suspects been held for the last few years) ??.

This information was obtained via interrogation tactics introduced by the Bush administration.
Yes and the information that lead to the capture - the name of the trusted courier - was obtained during the final stages of the Bush administration.

Obama also seems to think Guantanamo is a good idea now. Good for him. He is finally starting to realize that terrorism is a serious issue.

Also they knew the location of Bin Laden since last August. This sounds like a foot dragging decision from Obama like the surge in Afghanistan. I wonder what Pelosi will say about the CIA tomorrow.

According to the timeline, they discovered the courier's name in 2007, found the general area he lived in 2009, found his address in 2010.

And there is no indication that any of this information was obtained through torture, so no, it does not justify those measures.
