Do you think Lebanon should re-introduce a mandatory military service?

Used to be that it was mandatory to serve in the Lebanese Army,
Should they bring this law back up again?

I think they should, it will provide a stronger country.

I don't think it will help. Not as long as Lebanon is being controled from the inside by Hezbollah, and therefor by Iran and Syria.

Even if they did it won't make a real difference. Today's armies rely on technology and their Air Force to complete missions. Soldiers are only sent as a last resort.

1- Young boys are losing one year for nothing
2- We don't have weapons for all the army
3- Half of men that went to the mandatory military service stopped the education (i have a lot of cousins that done so) and it is hard to find jobs
4- Lebanese government is not able to pay them

the strength of an army is not with the number of its soldiers, its determined with the number of submarines, rockets, fighter jets, tanks etc...

One fighter Jet can kill more than 1000 soldier in 10 minutes, Thats why air-force is strongest form of fighting these days. I think lebanese should contribute more to their government so that it can buy advanced weaponry instead of wasting their times in a military that has no proper guns.

Definitely for both men and women.
Israel is the horror movie for all arabs and this is because they have compulsory military services for both men and women.
I think all men or women below 35 and above 18 should serve, this will make us more stable and be able to fight our rivals (palestinians and syrians)
