I've taken some courses in positive training. I'm not ready by far to do training for money. I have so much to learn, although I'm constantly trying to read and attend classes. Do professional trainers ever train newbie people? Do the newbies pay them or offer to assist them in some way? Would it be weird if I asked someone to mentor me that I don't know well but that I really respect? I know all they can do is say no, but would it be weird?
and by mentoring over the the course of many months or even a year.
Oh no it is not for only money. I would like this to be a career. I volunteer with different shelters and rescues... which I would be willing to work for several hours a week with them in the capacity of training if I had a mentor. Currently I volunteer, but don't do a lot of training with the dogs. Although I do try to on some. I love dogs and I want to be a wonderful trainer.
Everett, are you a "positive" trainer?
