Dewa to introduce fuel surcharge,UAE nationals are exempted from this decision?

Again we expats paying the bill for UAE nationals. It's gone smell like discrimination,another word I cannot find. Same like the housing fee it's upon our expat shoulders.
What's next? Fuel allowance for UAE nationals? Serious, they are discussing that already!!

@Faries: I respect your opinion, but I cannot agree with your opinion. Maybe Dubai is more "harassing" expats then AD. About the water consumption I totally agree, but in Dubai we don't drink the tapwater (it's pink and salty) but buy bottled water!!

@????: Totally agree!! Remember the ENOC/EPPCO troubles?? Dubai cannot subsidize 2 (ENOC/EPPCO and EMARAT) petrol companies. Just wait and see a slowly takeover by EMARAT inside and ADNOC outside Dubai borders........................................

Not in every Emirate UAE Nationals receive utility for free.

Where an increase of charges or charges in general apply to expats only does neither means that expats bear the costs for locals nor can you call it discrimination. Receiving free utilities is just an advantage of being an Emirati or holding an UAE passport living in an area where these sources provided for free to locals.

Compare being an UAE National with being an employee of a company i.e. an Airline. Airline members fly for free where you pay a ticket. Does that mean you support free tickets for Airline employees? It's just a benefit that a certain group receives by fulfilling certain requirements (UAE passport).

From my view the problem lays somewhere else. Thinking about the huge water comsumption in the UAE, people use those services as if they had no cost.

This is the honest truth!, probably will get loads of thumbs down from certain ppl here but end of the day, this is just a forum we are all entitiled to our views and points.

Lots false statements are said here to cover up stuff that happen behind closed doors, any one want to despute i will be glad to challenge them. This section has turned out to be more like blame culture now.

Has it not occurred to you that Dubai maybe in Debt and they are taking money from expats to pay for UAE nationals. It's not about having a UAE passport, this issue is related to high levels of Debt incurred by the Sheikh him self. Now there are not enough funds to keep the UAE nationals going.

UAE nationals have had it easy for many many years, and NOW the sheikh has declared WE are finding it difficult to support you, he has encouraged them to pursue education in UK, USA all expenses paid, BUT such a waste. After leaving high school they want CEO jobs :S

If you start to change the system now, there will be a huge revolt in Dubai, which the Sheikh maktoom can do with out, as he is is enough problems of his own.

Take funding away from UAE nationals and they will have some serious consequences.

There is no one to blame except the guys at the top. It's sad but true
