NEW BERN – Students in Craven Community College's (Craven CC) Massage Therapy program are now offering services to the public. These highly anticipated services will be available by appointment on Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 to11 a.m.:
The Massage Therapy program, which began this April, offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to become proficient massage therapists. Students gain hands-on experience with basic Swedish massage techniques, while also studying anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, chair massage, and ethical practices in the field. Upon graduation, they will be prepared to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). Successful completion of the MBLEx will enable them to apply for licensure with the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy and embark on a rewarding career as a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist. This clinic gives students hands-on experience and client interaction that is necessary to succeed in the field.
In addition to the Massage Therapy Clinic, Craven CC also offers personal care services by students in its Barbering Concepts, Esthetics Technology, and Cosmetology programs. All services are offered in Kelso Hall on the New Bern campus.
For additional information on Craven's personal care services, visit CravenCC.edu/Services. To make a massage appointment, call 252-427-8823. Please note that only cash payments are accepted.
