The point of this thread is twofold:

1. To discuss whether or not there is a code of conduct by which the ladies of leisure (chica) comport themselves; and if there is a code of conduct, what are the rules?

2. To discuss whether or not there is a code of conduct by which prospective clients of said ladies of leisure comport themselves; and if there is a code of conduct, what are the rules?

My belief is that there is a clear code of conduct for the ladies of leisure hereinafter referred to as chicas. The code of conduct has rules which apply to both chicas and the clients of the ladies of leisure, who are more correctly categorized as a who*emong*r, whor*master, often shortened to simply mon*er, but hereinafter referred to as a client.

Client = you

I understand that a topic like this is ripe for humor. If you feel compelled to make humor laced comments no one can stop you.

I also believe there is a handful of formally and informally trained scholars, intellectuals and/or rational thinkers who will want to read about, think about and comment on this topic.

There are some whose first impulse is to write sarcastic, acerbic and mordant comments and then may want to cycle back to the importance of the topic. Thus, after making the sarcastic, acerbic and mordant comments the CRT member may in fact want to seriously read about, think about and comment on this topic.

However, if you think this is pointless and useless, please just go onto another thread. Clearly there are those who will consider that thinking about this topic is beyond absurd and stupid. Their thought process remaining fixed on only the carnal aspect of the “sport”. That is fine. I have no problem with that.

Let me put another way, in vernacular terms, if you think this thread is just plain stupid, that is okay; just move on and let us “stupids” conduct an blog about this area of concern. I trust there are at least one or two others who will be interested in this thread and make sound and cogent comments.

It may seem odd to discuss a code of conduct for an activity which most of the world claims is “immoral”. One might presume that discussing a code of ethical conduct for an illegal act is a non-sequitur. But the fact is this is about the oldest profession; a profession which cannot and will not be stopped.

Codes of conduct abound in all strata of cultures and organizations. Formal codes are memorialized in laws; nevertheless, informal codes, such as the Code Duello which regulated the practice of dueling, are evidence of illegal acts which are socially acceptable as long as they are not spoken about in public.

The Code Duello was a code that regulated a practice which was outlawed in most civilizations but the code was known to and understood by all persons who participated in the practice. And the participants were typically the upper stratum of society.

For example, two of the United States best known historical figures in American history, Aaron Burr (Revolutionary War hero, Vice President of the United States 1801-1805) and Alexander Hamilton (Aide-de-Camp to Washington during the Revolutionary War, first Secretary of the Treasury, co-author of the Federalist Papers, the primary documents used in the construct of the Constitution) participated in a duel which led to the death of Hamilton at the hand of the seated Vice President of the United States. The duel, although illegal, had a strict code of conduct – the Code Duello.

There is an old saying adapted from Proverbs regarding a code of conduct among thieves: in essence one thief does not steal from another thief. That code of conduct is particularly true among organized criminals for example in the traditional Italian mafia.

If one member of the mafia steals from another member of the mafia, there will be inner-organizational enforcement of the code, in other words a punishment which will quite likely be the violator getting a new pair of cement shoes. "It's a Sicilian message. It means Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes."

So is there a code?

If yes, what is the code?


I believe there is a code. Below are a few of the fundamental rules of the code of conduct based on my observations. Please feel free to make comments on your observations and beliefs.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CHICAS

1. If one chica is speaking to a prospective client, that client is off limits to any other chica. No other chica can approach and/or solicit the client unless the first chica authorizes another chica to approach and/or enter into the conversation.

NOTE: There are chica tag-teams who are more than willing to cooperate; but there is always one dominate chica and permission must be granted by the primary chica, albeit very subtle permission.

2. If the client makes it clear that he is not interested in the chica and she walks away from the client, then the temporary chica-client relationship is broken and the client now is available for any other chica to approach.

3. If a chica works at a regular place (e.g., DR, SL or MP) and has a regular chica-client relationship with a client and the client comes into the regular place of business, the chica who regularly services the client has the right to the clients business unless the client advises the chica that he is looking for another chica to prove service that day. No other chica can approach the client until the chica-client territorial imperative is modified.

NOTE: The unspoken communications between chicas undoubtedly occurs without the client observing or knowing it occurred. After all, at that point the client’s brain is being starved of oxygen as another part of the clients extremity’s is being filled with oxygen rich blood.


CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CLIENTS


1. If one client has a favorite chica, that client cannot become jealous if she continues to ply her trade. The client must understand she has other clients and this is the way she makes a living. It is a business for her.

2. If a client is dating a chica, and the client has established a special relationship with that chica as the novia-chica; the client then becomes the novio-client.

3. The novia-chica / novio-client relationship includes additional contributions from both parties although it will undoubtedly be lopsided in the favor of the novia-chica. From the novio-client contributions would include added support in the form of cash, gifts, personal attention, etc. From the novia-client it would include GFE and other favors.

4. The novia-chica / novio-client relationship is not exclusive for her. However, the novia-chica will most likely demand exclusivity on the part of the novio-client to the novia-chica.

5. If a friend of the novio-client wants to session with the novio-client’s novia, the friend should ask permission of the novio-client to session with the novia-chica.

6. If the friend asks the novia-chica for a session, the novia-chica should advise the novio-client that the friend solicited the novia-chica.

Re: chicas; One thing VB pointed out long ago at one of the many HDR happy hrs.- If a chica leaves her purse at your table to wander off and do whatever, she has marked her territory and no other chicas will approach.

The code is more what you call "guidelines" than actual rules.

In context:

So suppose the client A is talking with a chica in a bar and he must step aside to use the facilities. What does the code say for each of the following situations:

1. Another potential client B steps up to talk to said chica. Does she:
a. Start new agreement with potential client B? (Albiet A may be pissed)
B. Declare her undying fidelity to client A? (until he says "next")

2. Another chica B stops client A on the way from the water closet. Does she:
a. Reclaim rights to client A after a cat fight?
b. Relinquish rights to client A because she didn't follow him as he went to use the head?

To expand a little on what Ricstravel says, this actually happened to me. I was sitting at the front bar at the SL talking to a chica seated at a table right behind my bar stool; I had turned around 90 degrees so the bar was to my left and the chica was to my right. I had been with the chica the previous evening, so I wasn't planning to go with her that night. She actually initiated the conversation and I bought her a beer and was just chit-chatting with her. I got up to go to the rest room and left my beer sitting on the bar at the seat I was sitting in. When I came back, there was a guy who had been sitting a few seats away now sitting in the seat I was in, talking to the chica. My beer was still there! I went over to get my beer and just stood there for a bit, making sure he saw me getting my beer. I was glad the chica had a prospect, but I was pissed the guy took my seat at the bar and didn't even offer to give it back! :? He did not know my intentions with the chica. There was an empty seat at the table with her. Just a side note, if a chica I've been with starts a conversation and sits by me, I tell her right away if I don't plan to take her that day - I will not lead them on.

Realizing that common courtesy is not always so "common," it may help communications in tricky situations like this. If a client needs to use the bano (and is very much interested in the chica), he could indicate his intentions to return and pursue "the hunt": "Con permiso...necesito ir al bano... y voy a regresar pronto." If the chica does not respect this, and starts lining up a Client B, then she probably isn't focused on giving Client A great service in the first place. In the second case, if Client A finds himself more interested in Chica B, whom he meets him on the way to the head, common courtesy would dictate that he politely disengage himself from Chica A.

Let’s see……..So far in all these scenarios we have

3. Working Girls
4. A guys desire to get laid

My point being the "code" will change from one minute to the next, based on who is involved and what all the other little details are. And I mean that from both His and Her side. There is no real "code" in this thing. Peoples feelings are going to get hurt or they might laugh, at exactly the same situtation. What might bother them one day will be laughed off the next. You can't make such sweeping and cookie cutter examples and then say which is right and which is wrong. Beacuse in real life we all look at things from a different perspective. Every scenerio has black, white and a ton of various grays in the middle. The same goes with this.

Basically if you want to live by something in the fantasy land of CR......"do the right thing" and if others don't move on. You have nothing to gain by tilting at the wind mill.

I was sitting at the back bar at the SL, and noticed a chica sitting with another guy. Her friend noticed me noticing, and came over to me, inquiring whether I was interested in her friend and encouraging me to go speak with her. I told her that she was with another guy & I wasn't about to interrupt. She had no understanding of the "Bro Code".

The other guy overheard my conversation with his chica's friend. and told me that he was only chatting and wasn't negotiating... ended his conversation, and passed her over to me! I bought him a drink, made the deal with the chica, and then gave him a full report when I returned to the bar.

The Bro Code comes before the Ho Code!

If the bar incident happened in the US, I would request that the guy vacate my seat. But everytime in the US when someone sees I am getting my beer that was there when he sat down, he gets up without asking - usually I tell him to keep the seat if there are other seats available. I try to avoid any drama in CR. I'm there to have a good time, and as long as someone is not messing with my plans or my money, I let it go.

If it had happened at a table at a restaurant, I would have made it plain that the guy was not welcome to stay at the table.

I won't step on anyone's toes, but I want nothing to do with any of the chica code. I have made it clear to chicas in the past that I am not with them, not interested and not to mark me in any way. And then make sure to tell a few chicas that I am not, nor will I be with her. Of course, I have done this in the most polite way possible. As far as cockblocking, I won't be the aggresor towards a chica that is obviously sitting with a guy. But do have to admit that in the past, eye contact has been made in this situation, and when a chica chooses to leave the guy and come to you, what are you gonna do. As for when I'm with a chica, game on! If she had prefer to be with you instead, I have no problem. I had rather her go with someone else than stay with me out of etiquette. I think basic manners are what I would consider my code of conduct.

There's the key point.

There are too many douche bags out there with no common courtesy. They will sweep in the minute you look away for a second or who follow a chica you've been talking to to the bathroom and try to intercept her before she gets back to you. And chicas are just as guilty. They are talking to a guy while surveying the room for a better (more $$$) client. That's pretty disrespectful too. Nobody is forced to go with anybody. Everybody has the right to choose who they go with, but they shouldn't lead each other on.

Bottom line... in this hobby, there are no guarantees. With some assholes, it seems that it's every man (and chica) for himself. Obviously, most act in a civilized manner but there are many that don't.

Btw--To me, the "code" doesn't have as much to do with any particular chica (hell, they are everywhere, we don't need to fight over the same ones) as it does about respect, or disrespect towards other guys.
