Late last week I tried this place out looking for a late night massage. I rang the door bell and waited. A few moments later a pretty young girl answered the door. I was led in and asked if I was taking a half hour or hour long massage. I was in the mood for a hour long and I was led to a room. In it I had the choice of a table massage or futon. I showered as per the girl's request and chose the futon. A few seconds later she returned. Placed her things on the table and came to my side. We chatted a bit and then she began a light massage. I asked her to go harder and she did. The massage itself was just fine with a mixture of Chinese and Californian styles being used. The asking of money up front in Asian places comes from over seas where its common practice. Since I'm well aware of this I usually will tuck "X" amount of money under the sheet, so I don't have to go and fish money out of my slacks after the flip.

You bring up a valid point it should mamasan's job to teach her employees about tipping.The previous girl that I had was also asian but she never asked or discussed tipping and she was happy when I tipped her she didn't even count it.
