Can I introduce two male dwarf hamsters to each other, from different litters...?

I bought a russian campbell yesterday and they only had the one male, he is very well tamed already, but I feel as if he needs a friend with him to keep him company. So I was thinking of getting another, but I've read that you can't introduce two new males because they'd kill each other or something of other. it does scare me a little, but I really want to get him a friend, I know of the cage trick, would it work? (trick: putting the cages next to each other so the two could interact). What if I use a glove to introduce them, that way I won't get hurt and I could keep them seperated a little. any ideas?

I'm guessing your hamster is young then--that's good. Introduce them when you're young and you have a better chance. Any older than 6 or so months, then it's going to be hard especially with males.

Try the cage trick. Also, put both of them on neutral ground (like the bathroom, or some place where both the hamsters haven't been yet) and let them scope each other out. If they playfight, that's fine. But if there's a lot of squeeking and even blood, separate them RIGHT away. I'd do that with another object so that you won't get bitten/scratched. Even a glove won't help you there haha.
