Bust effect on micros

How many of you guys think the busts on the MP's will move on to the micro's. If so should we lay low?

It's my opinion that they should be looking more into the operation of the micros for the use of "slaves" and "illegals". Micros are easier to hind, move around and don't require a business license or pay taxes to operate. At least with an AMP you have a know entity. And come on now we all know what these MP's are really doing behind closed doors. I wish the politicians and LE would use their resources for more important things. Having MPs is a lot better than having all of these people back cruising Davie and Seymour like back in the 80's.

108 arrested in massage parlor raids in Vancouver area

Canadian police carried out a series of raids on 18 massage parlors in Vancouver area Thursday night, making 108 arrests, reports said Friday.

Police targeted parlors suspected of having connections to the sex trade, organized crime and human trafficking operations.

Twenty-six of those arrested were clients at the parlors, while human trafficking investigators interviewed another 78 women, many of them described as being Asian or South Asian, the reports said.

Mary Pichette, a social worker who runs a safe house for prostitutes in Surrey, said the raids were unprecedented in Canada.

Police found up to 130 women who were allegedly being sexually exploited, she said, adding that she believes the raids just scratch the surface of the problem.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) estimate that as many as 1,200 people in Canada, mostly women, are victims of human trafficking every year.

We can't take an educated guess whether or not they're going after the micros or not. It depends on a few things:
1) nature of the present arrests. What exactly are they being charged with?
2) what posture they are taking publicly in the media.

On #1, a good friend told me that a girl was charged for working in a baudy house when she was merely cleaning the washroom. This is communicating to us that they are lashing out at anyone remotely connected. It could be to up their arrest count, so that the show would be bigger.

On #2, the posture they are taking publicly is that they are saving women from human trafficking. It's very obvious that very few of the ones arrested are involved in any way with human trafficking. This is consistent with their desire to exaggerate their success by inflating arrest counts. The real victims are these poor women who voluntarily are working there but now are facing criminal charges, which means they face future prospects of poverty. But at least the police themselves have not said "the raids just scratch the surface of the problem" as that idiot Mary Pichette the social worker quote above had said. I call her an idiot because she is being played directly into the police propaganda that sexual exploitation and slavery are going on in the MPs. If the police had said what she did, they're going for the micros. But perhaps her statement is either revealing their intentions or is going to promulgate new raids.

My guess at this point is that the micros are not safe. Certain neighborhoods are probably going to get hit hard. Most certainly the media will be invited with their cameras so that the arrested will be paraded in front of them. I'd watch out.

If LE was really concerned about human trafficking, they would have gone after the micros first. It's not like they're that hard to track down! You've gotta know that any of the places that are engaging in this odious practise will have "put all their ducks in a row" now. I must agree that this is more for show and for political correctness than anything else.

I have patronized Dynasty and Yumi's in past due to excellent reputations and a general vibe that their ladies were pleased to be there but this whole thing has me reconsidering the micro scene. (Am I contributing to slavery? [shudder] )

No doubt we'll all be watching this one with interest!

Exactly, it was all show! The police can walk in these places (MP) anytime without a warrent (if they suspect illegal activity) the city has a right to check these places out anytime.

The last thing Vancouver LE wants is to push girls back on the street. Richmond and Burnaby are, I believe, a different cases as they are always bothering these businesses.

I seem to be seeing more new members asking a lot about micros. If you are new to the board, why not spend a few hours checking out reviews from the past. Not only will you learn a few things but it is interesting reading.

Unless you are not really who you want us to think you are - a new pooner or with recent goings on in Vanc a ?

I don't think LE know what is going on out there and what they should be doing. last Thursday is just a show to satisfy some complaining wife.
Look at this form two side.
1. If a wife can satisfy her husband's need, I think, the number of our brothers will cut in Half.
2. Selling their body is the only means of serviving. For those girls in MP. They have no basic wages, they live on what ever they can get from tips.
It's the question of supply and demand. Behind close door. I don't think it's anybody's bussiness to call it legal or illegal, except somebody get hurt.
To have MP selling sex is MUCH safer then on the street.

Over 100 arrested in B.C. raid on suspected brothels

This link has more info. It reads that the raids stemmed from a "complaint" to Coquitlam RCMP about massage parlours. Typical stuff, probably started by other businesses or disgruntled staff/pooners/wives.

Is this deja-vu or didn't all the AMPs get raided last year too around the same time??

In that same article, here's some key info to note:

Police would not release the addresses or names of businesses under investigation, but said most had licences to run massage parlours.

Massie said bylaw enforcement officers from the municipalities involved are making sure the parlours do not re-open.
He also confirmed that five warrants were executed in Surrey, five in Richmond, four in Coquitlam and three in Burnaby. Another was executed by Vancouver police earlier Thursday.

However, Richmond RCMP later released the names of the businesses it raided: Swan Lake Shiatsu, Fu Yun Massage Centre, Gun Hoa, Jade Lake, as well as Kingdom Massage and Acupressure.

Cpl. Peter Thiessen said in the release that four bylaw infraction tickets were issued at Gun Hoa, one at Jade Lake and one at Swan Lake.
