BodyCushion

I was looking at the bodycushion in a catolog the other day and i was thinking about getting it. Has anyone here use it or have tried it out. Is it worth the $300? What is you client feedback? Is is "easier" to give a massage like they claim. I do a lot of sports massage it seems like it would be a good addition. But before i spend that money i would like some opinions.
Also is it worth it to get the whole package with the adjusters or is the the basics work just fine alone? Thanks for the help!

I have received massage on the body cushion. I cannot lay prone for long, so it is very comfortable for sidelying work. It also does help with the comfort level when i do lay prone. Because of repositioning, etc. I don't know that it would be a good thing to use if someone is coming just for a relaxation massage, because all the repositioning would disturb their relaxation. So, I do think sports and therapeutic massage are good modalities for this cushion. As a client, I am much more comfortable when the therapist is doing the sidelying work. My therapist uses it a lot for her pregnant clients.

I have been fortunate enough that someone gave me the full set, with extenders and everthing. It was given to her by someone who didn't use it anymore and she gave it to me because she wasn't doing much massage anymore. I have a few clients that I use it with. It is way too expensive for me to have purchased for the amount of use I get out of it. I have only had it a month or two, so that may change.

My recommenation would be to see if you can find someone with the video and borrow that so you can see some of the uses. It might even be worth it to purchase the video and preview it. Even if you don't purchase the body cushion, it's cheaper to purchase the video and not use it than to purchase the bodycushion and realize you don't really need it.

good idea i'll buy the video first. However for $300 i should get at least one video for free. It is showing how to use a product. Or try and put all the videos together. Do i really have to buy one for basic apllications, one for pregnauncy and one for soft tissue. Has anyone seen the videos and recomend just ONE! Tahnks

i didn't get the videos, i had a demo in school 8 years ago and basically just 'instinct'-ed my way through it. lots of trial and error!

it is a good system. however, i don't use it much, and it is expensive. it's great for pregnancy massage, great for anyone with lots of neck issues - you can REALLY access the back of the neck from any angle when they're supine. i don't feel like i do that great on someone with a lot of... adipose tissue? on their neck if they're supine. the BC helps so that i do a better job IMO.

Body cushion

I have had the Body Cushion- I have two now,one for office, one for outcall- for over 8 years. I love it! I work on lots of folks with lower back problems-sprains, strains, post surgery, etc. They are very comfortable on the cushion. It's also great for pregnant clients or those who can only lay on their side. Many people remark at how comfortable it is and I've heard several times that "my other therapist doesn't have this."
So it could be a client retention device too. I also like it to lay on myself when I'm tired, gives me a nice rest.
I can't say enough about it, worth every penny. I got my last one from a former distributor who sold it for less than $200.00 with all the accessories. I have only had 4 people in 8 years that didn't like it. If you work on large women, I'd recommend the breast plate.
