Just one thing I would like to point out is that having an erection for too long can be very damaging, so be sure not to take too much and if you start to have pains, see a doctor immediately.

In Mexico controlled substances are Category I-III medications. ED medications are Category IV medications. The letter of the law says you need a Rx from a Mexican physician to purchase any Category IV medication in Mexico. (The pharmacist only has to see the Rx; he doesn't have to keep a record of the sale as is required with Category I-III medication, which is why you can buy ED medication anywhere.)

You are breaking the letter of law if in Mexico you buy/carry Category IV medications without a Rx from a Mexican physician or can show it is a personal usage dosage prescribed by a US physician that you brought with you from the US. (So keep it in the vial in which it was dispensed.) But since "everyone is doing it" I doubt you'd have real trouble if you got caught buying/carrying ED medications without a Rx. (The penalty for Category I-III medication violations is prison; the penalty for Category IV medication violations is a minor fine.) Which is why I'd suggest refusing to pay a bribe if you are caught.

When Viagra was first on the market pharmacies in TJ required a Rx. Those days are long gone. At the present time a Rx is only needed when a corrupt cop is doing a shakedown. (Even then my best guess is he would let you go with a warning if you refused to pay a bribe.)

A while ago there was a problem with TJ cops shaking down guys for carrying ED medications without a Rx. That stopped when Jorge Ramos became mayor.

Shakedowns are cyclical so someday the problem may return. Which is why I advise getting a Rx when the cops are in shakedown mode. Failing that I advise buying a soda together with the ED Medication, taking the ED medication inside the pharmacy (after being sure a cop isn't outside watching you "make a buy"), then leaving drinking the soda.

I have used Viagra, Levitra, and Cilias (PDE-V inhibitors or ED medications) and will share my experiences. Levitra works best for me. For what it is worth, this has been discussed before on this and other boards and my experiences seem typical of what others posted.

Common side effects with ED medications are head aches, flushed face, and a stuffy nose. Less common side effects are blurred vision and a rapid heart beat. I take Aspirin (or something similar) when ingesting a PDE-V inhibitor to prevent a head ache.

Viagra gives the hardest erection. It has the shortest duration (4-6 hours for me) and I am more likely to have side effects (a head ache) with Viagra than with Levitra. Viagra often gives me a “boner” in public which is a draw back. The maximum dose is 100 mg.

Levitra works best for me. The erection isn’t as intense as I get with Viagra so I don’t get a “boner” in public. With Levitra I often get a bonus the following morning, something I don’t get with Viagra. Like most Levitra users I seldom have side effects. Levitra is usually considered the safest ED medication to mix with alcohol and the ED medication least likely to produce side effects. The maximum dose is 20 mg.

Cilias lasts longer than the others; often up to 36 hours, which makes it a great choice if it works for you. Cilias doesn’t always work for me. (Others report the same problem. Guys report more problems with Cilias than Viagra or Levitra.) Cilias gives me migraine strength head aches and sometimes it gives me random erections. (I’ve had the misfortune to lose an erection in the middle of a session only to have it return when the time is up.) The maximum dose is 20 mg.

Notes:
These meds are best taken with food. Avoid fatty foods (like lobster with butter) as they can prevent the medication from working. Alcohol also sometimes inhibits the medication from doing its job.

There are opticians who believe ED medications are causing ruptured capillaries in the eye resulting in vision problems. Some advise against the use of ED medications.

ED medications were originally developed to treat high blood pressure. So they can be deadly if taken in excess or when combined with other medications and/or alcohol. If you have heart problems or are using other medications it is wise to discuss possible interactions with a competent physician or pharmicist before taking ED meds. (Well trained pharmacists are actually very good at providing this sort of information. Plus it's free and can be done anonymously.) Please note well that mixing ED medication with “nitro” medications is especially serious and has at times resulted in death. Over the years there have been a few deaths (and strokes) in the ZN when guys have mixed ED medications with recreational drugs, blood pressure medications, alcohol, etc. It is best to give your system a day off before taking another dose. (If, for example, you take Viagra on Monday wait until Wednesday before using it again.)

ED medications help you get an erection, but they do not increase the production of seminal fluids. If your problem is you can’t have a round two because “the well went dry” PDE-V inhibitor medications won’t solve your problem. L-Arginine might.

Another well-respected monger once reported that he was not too keen on Cialis as his experiences were that he would be walking around with a hard-on for two days (which he noted may sound like fun but he found it to be oft times distracting) but when it came time for the grand performance, it sometimes failed him. There's a grocery store/liquor store with a Pharma attached, right on Revolution in a small shopping courtyard area (this is a big store that offers the frequent shopper discount card). They sold me a box of 8 Cialis (holgraphic seals and foil packaging -- in other words, the read deal) for $100 US. That's about $12.50 per pill and is $3 less than Costco charged in the USA a few months back.

I stay away from the generics as the potency is all over the map and I really don't know what the F_ _ K is even in them. For the extra $8/per excursion/day I know I am safe and "loaded for bear".

I've been buying Vitamin V and Cialis in TJ and Algadones for years -- here's a couple of tips.

Most Viagra available is generic, usually mfg in India or China. The best prices I've found in either city are $4/pill for 100mg. If you are buying pills lose, you are buying generic.

If you buy REAL Viagra it needs to be in the hologram pharma/mfg packaging or you are just paying more for generic.

The real ones are usually about $12 each, but with the peso down against the dollar, I would think you could negotiate $10 each. Most of these Pharma's have a "doctor" that will write a script on the spot.

Cialis is ONLY available as the real deal - no generic available. Pricing is the same as REAL V - $12 each. Be sure you get the foil packages with the hologram on it.

I just place whatever I buy in my sock and walk back across the border. I always have a small bag of other meds that I have purchased, and they stay out where anyone can see them. Over 50 trips with no issues. I never buy more than a dozen at a time. (OK, sometimes 24)

The generics are NOT as powerful as the real versions, but @ $4 each, you can afford to take a whole one and still be ahead of cutting a real V in half.

That said, I prefer Cialis as I can go 2 days on one pill. That shit rocks!

Officialy you need a prescription to buy Viagra and any other ED medicines in Mexico.

Of course anyone can buy them.
But if caught (bad wording, but the truth) you need a prescription if you have them on hand.

It's the same thing you'll find in the pharmacy, since they are making a 50% profit, there is no need to sell fake Viagra's. They charge $20 dollars in the bathrooms, but since the peso is so low, you are better off at a pharmacy where it's now common to get it for only $10 dollars or even lower if you shop around.

I was there last Saturday. First time at a pharmacy, I think it was in articulo 123 (or maybe 2nd?). Close to Constitucion. I asked for Cialis but they only had a 4 pack for $60. So I just got one V for $10.

It was my first time so after doing 2 or 3 girls I only took 1/2 the pill. It worked fine on the erection side, but in a total of 12 hrs and 5 girls I couldn't finish with the last 2 and called it a night around 4am (I was drinking).
I saved the other half for Sunday pm but they cleaned it up from my room
I didn't feel like I needed any more unfinished business so I didn't try anymore. I just picked up other 2 SGs Sunday and 1 Monday am before heading north Monday noon.

Here's a suggestion from a very well-respected monger: Go into the pharmacy and purchase *one* pill and a bottle of water (or soda). Take the pill *in* the pharmacy *before* you walk out of the pharmacy. Supposedly, the police will follow mongers to the pharmacies and ask for shakedowns because you didn't get a prescription first (which supposedly is the law in Mexico).
