I put this here, cuz I don't know where else is better.  Still waiting for that product forum, ya know!   8)Hi.  Do we have a thread on this?  I can't seem to find it if we do.I am interested to know what headrest you find to be the best - most comfortable, leaves the least indentations, doesn't squoosh out so far that the client ends up with indentations on  their cheeks from the base plate below, etc. etc.I am serously thinking of purchasing a face cradle head rest from another company.What I also need to know is this:Right now, I can "de-velcroe" my cradle from the wooden plate below it, and am wondering if all the other manufacturers have this ability.  I think I just want to by something and "stick in on my cradle".  I have worked on a few other tables that do.  So if you write down, "I like Oakworks", would you please let me know if the velcroe on the bottom of the head rest enables you to just pull the leather cushy part off the cradle or not?Thanks in advance.I have played with memory foam, but it still seems to spread outward too much and my clients heads mash down just enough to push the cheek bones onto the wooden part below.  Though I like the foam... I just don't like that ladies with little heads sink.Hit me with your findings!

A few points:1. Every face rest I personally have ever worked with (Earthlite, Stronglite, Master, etc.) have all had the velcro that made them easily interchangeable.2. The only face rest I've used (not for long) that I would never recommend was on a Master table. It was VERY small, hard and uncomfortable.3. I think one of the most comfortable "regular" (not memory foam) face rests I have is on my Stronlite massage chair but I've always like the one on my Earthlite.4. Personally I love my Memory Foam face rest and so do my clients. I understand what you are saying about the width but when I have someone with a smaller face/head I just "squoush" it closer together when I place it on the base plate when I begin and there doesn't seem to be a problem. And the up side is that I can widen it easily for people with wider faces and I can't seem to do that with the "normal" face rests. 5. I saw a new face rest in the April/May issue of Massage and Bodywork for Boiance face rests. It says it is a revolutionary design, decreases sinus compression and adapts to your existing cradle. I haven't looked into them any further to verify their claims but maybe somebody else has tried it.

It folds down and out of the way when not in use."It has velcro. I have the whole piece. It doesn't creak or slip like others I've used. If the holes match, I think it would be a good investment.

Thanks for all of the replies so far.I am basically considering purchasing the face rest and not the cradle part (with the holes) from somewhere else and just using the velcroe on my cradle part to give me a new headrest.  Hope that makes sense.I actually like that headrest on the SL chair too and I have one.  Maybe I'll do a little swap test and see what I see.Please keep letting me know what ya'll think!  Every comment is a welcome one!

The face cradle cushion that came with my Earthlite table is much to hard, and no one has been comfortable on my table using that thing.  But, the cushion that came with my Earthlite chair is super soft and comfortable, so I'll probably start using that with my table.

I like the Golden Ratio QuickTouch.  It has many adjustments, velcro and a concave area for the face which is very comfortable.  To make it even more plush I added their merlino wool face rest cover for clients with narrow facial bone structure.

Right now I have an oakworks table, and face cradle. I have not had any issues with it (minus the usual "cradle face" after a treatment.) It does velcro, however, depending on the type of equipment you have already, the velcro may be positioned differently. I just recently found out that custom craftworks sells Tempur-pedic face cradles. I work at a retail store called Brookstone, which is an authorized retailer of Tempur-pedic, and since I have been working there, I have purchased the bed, slippers, pillows, and anything else they make. I LOVE the feel, and how it does not give you sore spots while sleeping.I do not have the face cradle, and since I do not know if it is too wide or not wide enough, I can not recomend it YET (I plan on getting it, as well as a TP mattress topper for the table)Custom Craftworks offers a trial period (30 days?)I don't know if your "memory foam" was tempur-pedic, but if it wasn't I would suggest trying this one out. If I get mine anytime soon, I will let you know!

Hey all.. The best face cushion ive worked with is the custum craft works one that is attatched to the "positilt" cradle. This thing rocks! I need to re attach it to the cradle before my sessions(it comes unattached for storage inside the table) so my clients always get a custom fit cushion as i adjust the width and space for thier faces. Also, the ability to tilt the cradle,lift up and even turn it side to side for more neck access is superior to any ive seen. I've worked in numerous spas, taught in schools and by far this is the best ... Take care all!

Right now I have a master table, but it actually came with quite a nice sized headrest, not the thin one you usually see, but the deluxe thick one.However in attempts to reduce face lines, I purchesed the Kur headrest. I did add some extra velcro towards the opening as I noticed that it sometimes likes to shift apart and the face would try to slip through. Since I've done that its been wonderful. I did have to "air" out the face rest however. 2 days with the foam exposed, and washed all the covers too. It had an unpleasant smell at first to say the least! But that did the trick! Hope this helps some.

Hi Pueppi, do you mean the face rest cushion or the other part? If you are looking for a good face rest cushion, I also like the boiance. I used my Earthlite cushion for almost ten years and many clients commented on how comfortable it was, but I also wanted something new and that's what I went with. My clients like it, and it has velcro for attachment to any of the face rest holders (I guess that what they're called?). I am looking at the cushion. And, asking if people who respond can let me know if the cushion they like best has velcroe on the back, so that I can just put it in place of the one I have that I don't like.

Do you like the Boiance even better than your Earthlite cushion then? How much better, etc., etc? Can you give me a perceneforum.xxxe rating? Just for comparisons sake. I think they are about the same cost.

Also, when you recall that other face cradle cover info, I'd love to get it. I have one client in particular who has problems with every face cradle cover I've ever used. I am running out of options and never heard of a satin one, so maybe it will work for her.

Yes, Pueppi, that's the company. I'm planning on ordering some as well but they seem to be out? I haven't called, but the link for ordering was disabled (at least it was a couple weeks ago).

Yes, both headrest cushions I mentioned have velco on the back. When I bought my first table, the headrest wasn't adjustable. I didn't purchase an adjustable one until about four years ago. When I purchased the adjustable cradle, I just put my former headrest cushion on it. To tell the truth, I can't really say how much better one is over the other. The Boiance has a deeper width, so some washable face cradle covers may not fit. The feather soft washable fitted covers I use do fit. I actually have two clients who don't like the Boiance and so I pull out the Earthlite cushion when they come in. They weren't clients before I had the Boiance but when they each had their first session, each remarked they felt the face cradle cushion was "too poufy" and "too soft". Everyone else seems to like it well enough. I can't say that it has helped prevent stuffiness that much, I haven't noticed a difference, I still get clients who stuff up a little even with the Boiance. Although, thinking back, it's hard to say. When I had the Earthlite cushion I was working in an office that had carpeting. I didn't get the Boiance until I was at my current location that has hardwood flooring, so that might be why I'm noticing less stuffiness in clients.

I use the Boiance face cradle cushion on all our tables. When I first switched it out for the old Earthlite standard ones every client commented that it felt better, either unprompted, or when I asked after the massage.

I myself find that it reduces pressure on the pressure points of my face. Stuffiness might be reduced a little, but mainly it reduces the pain I feel. Usually when I get a massage I have to take my head out of the face cradle about halfway through, but with this I can keep my face in almost until the end of the prone work.

It's still not perfect, but I'd say it's 50% better than the others I used.
