Bar Idem and HLH lineups

I'm heading down in a week with a newbie and was wondering what the lineups look like in Idem and HLH. My buddy also wants to know if there is a place that he can get a good cuban cigar and drink coffee? You know us Louisianan's and our coffee. Any help would be appreciated.

I can only tell you Bar Idem has a great line up at this time. It is 61,000 or about $ 54.00 but if you want to take a look judge for yourself. I will tell you one thing thou Old Herman knows a race horse when he sees one. In my opinion it is the best lineup in The Gulch at this time. The key here is it is just an opinion. I know this is 2nd hand info as I normally do not frequent IDEM, but I had the pleasure of traveling home from my last CR excursion a few weeks ago with the esteemed Don Gordo, who echoed Herman's sentiments about the top quality of the lineup therewith. As an IDEM aficionado, DG's opinion holds much weight, IMO....

Thanks for the advice guys. I have met DG and any place that he says is great you can bank on it. The guy I am taking for his first trip is 70 years old. This ought to be fun watching his reaction to all this. He is interested in meeting some of you if you are at the Amistad or SL during our trip. We will be there March 4 - 10 at the Amistad. He will be the old man with the LSU stuff on probably.

checked out the lineup at Idem Thurs night. There were about 12 chicas there and 2-3 IMHO that were doable. Of course, Crackerass ' numbers for "doables" was slightly higher than mine.... :

Now for the other 1/2 of your question--It may be pricey but the Cigar Lounge @ HLH is the guaranteed place...but before you buy and sort-of enjoy a Cuban cigar (doing it just because they're legally unavailable in the US?), ask Eddie for his advice. I do believe you'll find Nicaraguan, Dominican or even Costa Rican cigars are higher quality at less cost. For a cheap down-time thrill, check out the Vegas de Santiago cigar factory tour--it's in Puriscal and a 1/2 day trip on a bus but much worth it. CR is not about limits--it's about possibility expansions. When you go to the SL or Dunn Inn Happy Hours, mention it to the Brothers you meet--might get some company, and with just a few of you, consider taking a van trip. Maybe not quite as much a thrill as one of those Chicas who can suck a golf ball through a garden hose but worth considering...

I'll be back on Tuesday through Saturday (from BR) night giving the tour to a few first-timers. I 'spect we'll (my novia & I) will be visiting Asta at Amistad every night - so look for a gordito with a 32 y/o gorgeous 'lil tica. Feel free to ask for "Dale y Grettel".
