Went there last night with RBC100 and if you like funky lively places with lots of girls, some of which are actually appealing and a price STILL under 10k, check it out. It is now on my cheapskate tour itinerary. Saw at least 3 I would have done if I had any gas left in the tank. It's on like Av 14 and Calle 2. About a block and a half southwest of Clinica Biblica, more or less. Speaking some Spanish is a plus, as it is everywhere, but a little moreso here. Daytime prices at night.

this is a lonesome area during the day ....lots and lots of young ticos on the weekends at this place and its sister places.basically a huge room with a jillion chairs..go and look at these places during the daylight before they open.. for a jolt :shock: ......lots of warehouses and storage facilities in the area with a long stroll between streets without a storefront or much lighting..unless theyve changed a lot youre basicallyfucking in a closet..its wild for sure.. lots of fun..take a wing..most ticos will be at least four or five in a group...these places are closed down a lot..if youre going.. do it soon..the atmosphere is electric to say the least...people that go have a strange light in their eyes for a few days when they talk about it....its usually a really young crowd from the other side of the tracks..come and go with the "group"...theyre there ..and then whammo ..its almost empty ...with just a few suspect cabbies prowling for fares..ymmv..its been awhile.. :

If you go by taxi and can speak survival Spanish you will be fine alone. Always better with a wingman if you have one who shares your liking for the funky side. I wouldn't be afraid, but I wouldn't send a first timer there, though he might dig it.

Also: RBC went back the next night, Sat., and he said it wasn't nearly as good that night, so don't 'take it to the bank' that there will be anybody you want to do there on any particular night. If you are on the south side of town, though, there's no cover and you can pop your head in and just leave if you want to.

Bar Argentina is my new favorte night time place. Went there every night this trip. It wasn't bad on Friday and Saturday night except the guys far outnumbered the girls so the good ones were mostly taken. Best night was last night as about the same group of girls but not many guys so I would say Sunday night is one of the better nights to go there as was Wednesday the night I arrived. Sessioned there my first and last night and rooms were very basic and rough on the edges and I would say comparable to Molino Rojo. It is not the kind of place for everypne but for guys who like the local places it is a fun place with some decent talent on the cheap. A few more details are as follows.

Location: One block west of Margaritas on Calle 2 near Ave 18
Prices: 10000 hhr and 15000 hr
Time: Hear they open at 3 pm and they close at 12 Pm

Hey RBC and Bilko, Thanks much for the scouting report. Bar Argentina sound promising -- a little like those Centro clubs in Medellin. I recall some memorable times at Margaritas and Molino Rojo. Did you get a chance to evaluate them this trip? Hope to be in the neighborhood soon and would appreciate the local vibe.

Similar to the Molino Rojo or VIPs Amon, it is a bar with rooms in back. You can just drink, you can just grab and go, or any combination. Calle 2 between Avs 16 and 18, closer to 18. Close to a small park officially named "Parque General Jose Maria Canas." This is Costa Rica, you can't get good directions and none of the locals care. Pura Vida.

Been to Bar Argentina twice a few years back because I saw one of the hottest ticas ever out front, but once I did the walk around I was horrified by the place. It's super horrible and dirty. I just couldnt pull.

Amazing one of you nuts ventured in there and pulled. LOL. I showed the guy who owns the other site (wont mention it here) the location and he said keep rolling, lol.

Tucas is right down the street (accross from Margaritas) and it's a tad nicer but also nothing special.

8k for a half an hour.
