Am I introducing my male rats wrong?

I got my first rat in January, from Petsmart, with his brother. Shortly after getting him his brother passed away. I was worried about getting a new one because I was getting all my info. from the internet and read that you can't just put them in together. I waited until April and got a hairless, male, rat because I was confident that I could go through the introduction. Its been almost 2 months and I still can't get myself to do it. 2 days ago I took both from their cage and sat them on the floor, my older rat was going crazy by licking, chasing, and clicking his teeth at the younger one. I've had their cages side by side for two days and this morning I put my older one into my younger ones cage. I know the internet says not to do this but I really want them to have companions and they we're doing very good, they laid in the younger ones tissue box together. Please help.
